English & Performance
This Learning Area is led by Ms Hickes and offers the following subjects: English Language, English Literature, Drama and Film Studies. The Learning Area also runs the Philosophy Club and occasional theatre trips.

Mathematics

Mathematics & Enterprise
This Learning Area is led by Mr Gower and offers the following subjects: Numeracy and Mathematics including Further Mathematics; Business Studies, Economics and Business, Information and Communication Technology, and Enterprise Education. Students can enter national competitions such as the Maths Challenge and Cypher challenge and the Learning Area offers a range of extra-curricular activities.

Science and Human Sciences
This Learning Area is led by Mr Saunders and offers the following subjects: Sciences including Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Electronics, Health & Social Care and Physical Education. The Learning Area co-ordinates the Healthy Schools initiative. Extra-curricular activities are run by the Learning Area, including the annual Key Stage 2 Science Fair. There are numerous extra-curricular activities offered.

Technology and Visual Arts
Subjects in this Learning Area are led by Ms Rahn and Ms Rollins.  The Learning Area offers the following subjects: Art, Art & Design, Design & Technology, Engineering and Music. A range of extra-curricular activities are available to students.

World Studies
This Learning Area is led by Mr Davies and offers the following subjects: French, German, Geography, History, Religious Studies and Law. The Learning Area organises a range of extra-curricular activities including foreign travel, exchanges and field trips, and oversees the delivery of Citizenship, Religious Education and other socially-related courses that form part of the national curriculum.
